The de Young Museum’s current exhibition is titled, “Alice Neel: People Come First”. They are excepting submissions from local artists and one of my pieces made it into their online and in person slide show exhibition.
My oil painting, “Empty Pools” is the piece they chose to feature in their Pictures of People portion of the exhibit. It is a portrait of Miranda, an avid swimmer distraught over her world changing due to the constant drought. Go to the de Young website and click on the Pictures of People show tab to view. Search under Two-Dimensional Wall Art>paintings to find my work as of today on page 4. Their are many other local artists who are featured and they are accepting submissions from all ages from now until June 24th!
Check it out show runs March 12th-July 10th 2022.
